The Anir Foundation Academy on Tolerance, Peace and International Awareness (ATPIA) is a non-profit, non-sectarian
NGO with its goal being to provide North Americans with positive international service opportunities in Southern Africa.
ATPIA strives to raise the awareness of issues affecting Southern Africa such as HIV/AIDS, homelessness, ecology, and
youth related issues. ATPIA Projects offer unique opportunities to work on short-term, team-oriented and individual
projects.   

*        Participants must be 18 years old or older
*        Provide their own funding and be able to fully support their Experience – all positions are unpaid.
*        Participants can receive academic credit through their college or University and may be of any academic discipline.
*        Participants must be fluent in English.

Where indicated “Costs are inclusive” means all accommodations, Bed & Breakfast all listed activities & entrance fees,
Africa ground transport, training & materials, and supervision.

Not Included are personal needs or items, additional excursions not listed, USA transport & lodging, international airfare,
lunches and dinners (unless otherwise indicated).

ATPIA Cost are dependent on program design and length of stay. Available programs and are listed separately and/or
in communications

Process for Applying
Level 1 is for persons 18 years of age and older (Team & small group Experience)
Level 2/Advanced Placement is for persons 24 years of age or older (Solo Experience)

Application process is Free. Fill-out and return this initial application  via e-mail or ground mail.

No applications will be accepted less then 25 days prior to group program start (however most group programs fill
up 3-4 months in advance); and no less then 90 days before individual placement.

First telephone interview will take place 4-10 days after receipt of your application.

Review team will review your application and phone interview and determine your Anir Experience fit.

Notification of acceptance into Anir Experience: you will be notified by e-mail if you have been accepted or not. If
you do not have an e-dress you must get one; you can use any of the free sites like Yahoo, Gmail or Hotmail.

Registration cost: Upon acceptance a registration form will be e-mailed to you – you must download, filled out, notarized
and ground mail back to Anir Experience with  payment marked as indicated. Full-payment must be post marked on or
before date stated. There may be penalties for late payment which will be explained in correspondence. If you are
receiving money from your school or a granting source and will not receive you funding 40 days before departure, you
must still make all non refundable deposits to hold your space.
